Based in Lancaster County, PA since 1978, all engineering disciplines are in-house to perform total design of new facilities, facility renovations and expansions, master planning services, and remedial design, with a core focus on providing BIM(Building Information Modeling) solutions in a team environment. Primary focus in the dairy, prepared foods, produce, meat, poultry, seafood, bakery, snack foods, confectionery, pet food, pharmaceutical, and juice/beverage manufacturing industries, and the wholesale grocery, food service, convenience store, specialty food, and public cold storage distribution industries.
Position Summary:
This position has responsibility to plan, schedule, conduct / coordinate detailed phases of engineering work for assigned projects; perform work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features. Work requires a broad knowledge of engineering of all types of mechanical and refrigeration systems used in food processing and storage.
Position Requirements:
- Must be an effective communicator with client, design team, and contractors in resolving and maintaining project direction.
- Conduct code reviews and develop design basis / design approach for mechanical and refrigeration systems.
- Develop calculations / analyses / specifications required to support system sizing and equipment selection.
- Develop mechanical and refrigeration system models utilizing BIM.
- Works with other engineers and designers that may be assigned to the project team to support overall facility design.
- Responsible for review of project submittals and shop drawings.
- Conduct site surveys to determine conformance with design intent during construction and to evaluate existing mechanical and/or refrigeration system conditions during design.
- Evaluate and respond to field questions; evaluate contractor alternates during bidding and construction. Makes recommendations for the resolution of conflicts.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical and/or architectural engineering (with a mechanical concentration) is required at a minimum
- Possess Five (5) years, or more, of mechanical and/or refrigeration engineering experience.
- Basic/essential level proficiency in Revit (latest version preferred)
- Must be experienced in working with Windows programs such as Outlook, Word and Excel as well as discipline specific programs.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) certification required
- Being a Registered Professional Engineer is a plus, but not a requirement.
Work Environment / Location:
- The position will involve working in our Lititz, PA office.
- The position will also require travel to client job sites.
Job Length: Full Time
Travel: Our firm provides services throughout the United States and occasionally other countries. Occasional travel (initial site investigations, construction observations, etc.) will be required depending on project scope
Salary: Compensation will be contingent on credentials and level of experience.
