Maintenance Technician
This role involves servicing, maintaining, rebuilding, and repairing a wide variety of production or processing machines and equipment used in a steel tube heavy industrial manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities:
- Servicing and maintaining production or processing machines and equipment
- Performing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and welding operations associated with installation and repair of all types of equipment, machinery, overhead cranes, heating and plumbing compressors, pumps, conveyors, motors and boilers
- Conducting Preventive Maintenance checks and performing adjustments, cleaning, lubrication and replacement of parts on various equipment to ensure that the equipment is in superior operating and safe conditions
- Using a variety of power and hand tools such as drills, saws, wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers and grease guns to perform repairs and maintenance of machinery and equipment
- Repairing and calibrating electrical and electronic recording devices, and regulating control instruments
- Measuring, cutting, threading and installing electrical conduit. Pulling wiring through conduit. Splicing wires. Connecting wiring to fixtures and power equipment
Requirements:
- High school education or equivalent preferred
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to read and speak English is preferred
- Mathematical skills equivalent to high school level including the ability to do decimals, fractions and averages required
- Must be able to communicate, both in written and verbal form, effectively with supervisors and co-workers
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to work a minimum of 12 hours per day on a regular basis
- Requires full range of body motion to include: lifting, bending, twisting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, stooping, and squatting
- Position requires frequent walking and/or standing on concrete floor while wearing steel-toed shoes
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing area of the facility
- Regular exposure to loud and prolonged noise
- Regular exposure to hot temperatures of 95° F to 110° F in the summer due to the combination of the actual outside temperature and heat from the processes inside the facility
