Weber Basin Water Conservancy District is Northern Utah’s Regional Water Supplier for: treated municipal water, wholesale irrigation water, retail secondary irrigation water, untreated industrial water and groundwater replacement water. We proudly serve the water needs of our customers in Davis, Weber, Summit, Morgan and Box Elder counties.
We are seeking qualified applicants to fill a Temporary & Seasonal Garden Landscape Maintenance position. The season typically begins in April/May and ends in September. We are flexible and can work with your school schedule.
Work Hours: Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Full or part-time hours may be available. Occasional Saturday work may be required. This position includes up to four paid holidays during the season.

Job Summary : This position performs a variety of tasks, some requiring specific training and experience in routine maintenance of the District’s Learning Garden. This position will assist in the care of our Learning Garden, conduct garden tours, assist in the teaching of horticulture classes, and other community conservation programs. Will work with the public and perform other tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements: Preference given to applicants with college-level classes in horticulture, botany, plant sciences or related. General knowledge of basic landscape practices and maintenance techniques will be helpful.
The candidate must have the following abilities:
- Basic knowledge of plant materials and landscape maintenance techniques.
- Basic knowledge of the types and uses of common hand tools, materials and equipment used in general garden maintenance, repair, and laboring work.
- A general knowledge of landscape practices which include irrigation systems, best planting practices, overall landscape maintenance, low water or water-wise landscaping, and basic gardening is helpful.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Be confident in speaking to the public in what could be confrontational situations. Able to share information with the public in an enthusiastic manner to promote awareness and result in a behavior change.
- Be able to work outdoors in full sun for extended periods.
- Be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Be able to use personal computer with a basic understanding of word processing and basic spreadsheet data entry.
- Be able to work with others in cooperation or alone.
