This position will work primarily with youth but will evolve to include adults in the community. There is some travel required. Training will be provided.
We are looking for candidates that have a growth mindset and are problem solvers. Community Coordinators regularly meet with youth, elected officials, community members, school personnel, and business owners. Communication skills are a requirement! We also want someone who can balance organization and fun.

General Job Function: Provide daily oversight for planning, organizing, and building community support for the community collaboration, which promotes and develops the concept of prevention science in the community of the identified high school cone. This is a highly visible leadership position in the community that interacts with key leaders, agencies, and extensive volunteer base, and other key leaders to facilitate program goals and objectives. In addition, this person works with Community members to establish priorities, long-range plans, and other technical aspects of program operation. Manages, allocated budget, and performs various duties in support of the program. Community Organization.
B. Key Job Duties: 95% of time
1. Serves as a front-line representative for the coalition and builds cooperative relationships with community leaders, agencies, volunteers, and other stakeholders; including recruiting, orienting, and working with the coalition members.
2. Develop cooperative relationships between Key Leader members and ensure continual focus on program goals and objective which includes those in the coalition's strategic plan.
3. Facilitate the development of short- and long-term program goals and objectives; ensure resources are allocated and met.
4. Perform various duties necessary to oversee management of evidence-based programs and strategies; performs various administrative tasks related to the administration of the community's strategic plan.
5. Attend required training and perform other duties as needed.
Minimum Education/Experience/License/Special Requirements: Bachelor's degree in public health, social work or another related field preferred, not required. Knowledge of and ability to model healthy life skills. Public speaking and presentation skills. Ability to plan, organize, and present presentations and programs. Experience with program development and implementation. Group facilitation skills. Ability to work well with people of all ages and backgrounds. Must be willing to complete and criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening. Must have a valid Utah Driver License. Must have own transportation.
