Job Summary/Basic Function:
Weber State University's College of Social & Behavioral Sciences (CSBS) seeks applicants for the position of Marketing and Public Relations Specialist. This is a full time position in which the individual will be responsible for the internal and external marketing programs, advertising, event and activity promotion, social media presence and other public relations activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in marketing or communication or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of one year of experience working in ad agency, media sales/advertising, marketing, market research and/or event planning, or a minimum of one year of experience with higher education communications, marketing or advertisement.
- Skill/experience in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and social media platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Seeking candidates with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in design and technology
- Excellent record of work in marketing and publicity
- Strong project management experience and organizational skills
- Ability to take initiative, work without supervision and begin projects independently
- Fluency and ability to produce content for marketing campaigns across multiple web-based and traditional platforms plus the ability to lead social media programs
- Experience in student recruitment/retention
- Excellent writing skills for different media
- Strong strategic planning, proven implementation and execution experience
- Experience with software for web and print design

The annual salary for this position starts at $34,000 and may go up from there depending on candidate qualifications. The position comes with a generous benefits package.
