Job Summary/Basic Function
The STEM Mentor will provide academic support and mentoring to high school students participating in EAST’s Summer Bridge program with a focus on STEM education and careers. The two classes we need specific STEM Mentor support for this season are CS 1030 Foundations of Computing and ARCH 1040 – Introduction to Architecture. This includes acting as a teacher’s assistant, assisting students with class projects and homework, serving as a near peer mentor. Duties also include helping motivate students, gathering survey information, providing one on one tutoring when needed, technical support and overall support for the program and its programming elements.
The Summer Bridge program will run M-Th from 9-3pm, June 23- August 7th, 2025, with training beforehand and some data collection afterward.
Criminal Background check is required as a condition of employment.

Required Qualifications
Experience and some completed coursework in Computer Science, Architecture, and tutoring students.
Experience working with youth (9-12th grades) formally or informally.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to assist others with academic work (jr. high level).
