What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recruitment and Community Relations Coordinator position at Webstaurant Store, Inc.?
Basic Overview:
The Recruitment and Community Relations Coordinator role is responsible for taking ownership of the onboarding process at the local distribution center to ensure new employees reflect and embody Webstaurant Store’s core values; as well as, initiating and facilitating the personal and professional growth of all new employees. They will partner with local external organizations in both recruitment and volunteer activities. They assist the Manager of Training and Development in all relevant initiative and functions as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Posts and manages jobs and applicants in our in-house applicant tracking program, responds to questions about application status, screens applicants, conducts phone interviews, creates job offers, works with Benefits to answer any questions about pre-employment
- Identifies strategic opportunities to recruit locally, attends recruitment events
- Manages relationships with temp agencies/external recruiters
- Builds relationships with local colleges, high schools, professional/community organizations with the goal of creating various talent pipelines
- Coordinates on-site hiring events and advertises them through various channels
- Manages location’s social media accounts (recruitment marketing)
- Researches and recommends creative ways to market our jobs and tracks results
- Provides regular reports to management related to recruitment/staffing data (turnover, staffing/temp agency fees, etc.)
- Works with employees to identify local non-profits to support through the Clark Foundation, our non-profit organization
- Coordinates local volunteer events for employees
- Functions as media contact as needed
- Other duties as required by management
Education and/or Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a distribution environment; receiving and/or inventory experience preferred
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency with MS Office required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to quickly adapt as business needs change; ability to address difficult situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence
- Customer service-oriented attitude with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations
You must be able to meet the following physical demands:
- Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 8-12 hours/day depending on shift
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing
- Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
- Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching
- Requires the ability to regularly lift / carry 50-75lbs. and push / pull up to 150lbs.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasional activities may involve exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.
