Position Description

Advertised Job Summary
This position, located in the Northeastern U.S. (NY, NJ, PA, CT, etc.) will be responsible for developing and managing a recruitment territory and assisting with planning, organizing, and implementing a comprehensive recruitment program seeking students interested in pursuing a career in teacher education (elementary, secondary). The selected individual will be responsible for tracking and meeting directed goals for applicants, admits, and enrolled students. Occasional travel to USCB to participate in on-campus training, recruitment events, and other duties as assigned. The mission of the Division of Enrollment Management is to serve our diverse community by enrolling, educating, and transforming students’ lives. Serve. Enroll. Educate. Transform.

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience

Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual -Spanish
  • Teaching experience at the primary or secondary level
  • Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Student Information System (SIS)


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Skilled at public relations and public presentation.
  • Tracking prospects from inquiry to enrollment, and knowledge of marketing and advertising strategies.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills and an ability to articulate the value of USCB enrollment and degrees.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office a must.
  • Ability to learn and master new software, and database management systems.

Manage an assigned territory with a major focus on recruiting underrepresented populations interested in pursuing a career in Education. Recruit prospective students by attending events (i.e., College fairs, high school, and community college visits), conducting presentations, and establishing relationships with prospective students, public/private school personnel, parents, community/Jr college personnel, and other relevant stakeholders to identify, attract, and enroll a highly qualified and diverse pool of students.

Closely manage the applicant pool, and guide students through the process from application to enrollment for assigned area by providing effective communication to prospective students and their families. Review admission applications and render admission decisions within established guidelines set forth by the University of South Carolina Beaufort and utilize the customer relationship management (CRM) system (Slate) to document all communication and interactions with prospective students.
