Position Description

Advertised Job Summary
As part of our Teacher Quality Partnership (TQP) program, the University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB) is seeking an Induction Manager to oversee and manage implementation of our two-year induction program with our high-need LEA and 21 partner schools to extend the pre-baccalaureate clinical preparation and provide support in the teacher’s first year in the classroom and beyond.

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

  • Understanding of techniques and practices of effective program planning, implementation, and assessment.
  • Effective written and oral communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain positive relationships and work cooperatively and effectively with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to affectively transmit knowledge and skill to others and provide instructional support services.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to set priorities and evaluate progress.
  • Understanding of effective models of teacher education from pre-service through induction and continuing professional development.
  • Understanding of assessment and evaluation strategies for teachers and programs; goals, requirements, and guidelines of South Carolina teacher evaluation standards.
