The Town of Webster is recruiting for an Office Clerk III to coordinate the Front Desk of the Recreation Center. This is a civil service provisional* appointment. Webster residency is preferred. This is a 40-hour work week position, working Monday - Friday with some weekends required.
- Provisional candidates must meet the minimum requirements established by Civil Service, sit for the next examination for the position and be reachable on the resultant civil service list.
Typical Duties: (including, but not limited to)
- Manage and assign duties and shifts to multiple part time employees including evenings and weekend shifts
- Responsible for front desk/reception function for the Recreation Center and maintaining positive atmosphere for facility users, greeting customers and the public
- Register program participants in programs, memberships and reserve rooms/lodges as needed
- Perform all functions within department registration system (RecTrac) including running reports, monitoring membership data and building schedule
- Assist department finance staff with vouchers and payroll
- Perform various clerical tasks such as department asset disposition, department staff meeting minutes.
- Process Park and Property use Permits in conjunction with the Town Clerk
Preferred Qualifications:
- Office clerical and computer experience
- Customer service focus
- Supervisory experience
Minimum Qualifications:
- Provisional applicants must meet the minimum requirements established by Civil Service, sit for the next examination for the position and be reachable on the resultant civil service list.

Civil Service qualifications: graduation from high school or possession of a GED, plus EITHER
- Successful completion of at least 30 credit hours from a college or university; OR
- 1 Year office clerical or secretarial^ experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
^ Experience as a Teller, Cashier or Sales Clerk will not be considered appropriate experience for the purposes of these minimum qualifications.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the minimum requirements established by Civil Service, sit for the next examination for the position and be reachable on the resultant civil service list, or hold permanent competitive civil service status as an Office Clerk III and be eligible for transfer/reinstate under Civil Service Rules.
