Position Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Executive Director to lead our tourism efforts in Webster Parish. This individual will oversee daily operations, develop marketing strategies, foster community partnerships, and promote local attractions to drive tourism growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tourism, marketing, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive tourism marketing plan for Webster Parish.
- Collaborate with local businesses, hotels, restaurants, and attractions to promote the parish.
- Manage and oversee the tourism budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Coordinate media strategies, advertising campaigns, and public relations efforts.
- Organize tourism-related events and promotional activities.
- Represent Webster Parish at local, regional, and national tourism events and trade shows.
- Build relationships with tourism publications, travel agents, and industry stakeholders.
- Oversee website content, digital marketing, and social media initiatives.
- Prepare reports, analytics, and presentations for the Commission on tourism impact and strategies.
- Work with community organizations to enhance tourism development.
- Actively seek funding and partnerships to fully develop Miller Quarters Park into a premier event destination in Minden. This is a key priority of the commission. The new director will also be responsible for seeking out bids for construction and overseeing the development of the new park.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in tourism, marketing, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in tourism, marketing, economic development, or a related field with a proven track record of growth
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Experience in budget management, advertising, and public relations.
- Excellent communication, networking, and public speaking abilities.
- Proficiency in digital marketing and social media strategy. Must be committed to growing, nurturing and fostering all @visitwebster social media accounts.
- Ability to travel for tourism-related events and conferences as needed.
