What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operator position at WeCan Environmental and Safety Supply, LLC?
This position has overall responsibility of operating the equipment in a safe, environmentally sound, and efficient manner.
General job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Promote and maintain all site HSE policies and procedures
- Take ownership and care of the Production equipment
- Execute process startups and shutdowns
- Monitor all process controls (e.g. temps, pressures, flows, etc.) Identify and correctly respond to process deviations.
- Perform autonomous maintenance as needed
- Prioritize and troubleshoot operational problems
- Keep records such as checklist, shift reports, etc.
- Read, understand and follow shift instructions. Write shift notes
- Some supervision of crew members is required
Job Requirements
- Basic knowledge/awareness of HSE standards and practices
- The ability to operate automated systems
- Good computer skills (MS Outlook, MS Teams, MS Word, MS Excel)
- The ability to multi-task and deal with interruptions
- The ability to work with little or no supervision and be a self starter
- The ability to read, understand and edit Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
- The ability to work in various weather conditions
- The ability to wear proper PPE for various conditions
- The ability to pass a drug screen and background check
Work Experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a chemical plant, Industrial, or manufacturing work environment
- One-year certificate from a college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in Plastic manufacturing process is a plus
- Knowledge of extrusion process is a plus
