Permit Specialist
Reports to: Manager of Design and Engineering
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Job Summary:
The Permit Specialist at Wecom Fiber will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful acquisition of all necessary permits and approvals for fiber installation projects. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and identify all necessary permits, licenses, and approvals required for fiber installation projects.
- Prepare and submit permit applications in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Follow up with relevant authorities to ensure timely processing and approval of permits.
- Maintain accurate records of all permits, applications, and correspondence related to project approvals.
- Organize and manage project documentation, ensuring all files are up to date and accessible.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to understand project requirements and timelines.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for permit-related inquiries from internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with local government officials and regulatory agencies to address any questions or concerns regarding applications.
- Ensure that all projects are compliant with local zoning laws, building codes, and environmental regulations.
- Monitor changes in regulations and permitting processes to keep the team informed of any updates that may impact projects.
- Identify and address potential permitting issues or delays proactively, providing solutions to keep projects on track.
- Assist in resolving any disputes or complications related to permit approvals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Construction Management, Urban Planning, Engineering) preferred.
- Experience in permit acquisition, project management, or a related field.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal permitting processes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
