Vice President of Construction

Job Summary:
Wecom Fiber is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Construction to lead our expansion efforts in Arizona. This role will oversee the construction operations for the development of four new markets, with the potential to add an additional 70,000 units. The VP of Construction will play a critical role in driving our growth strategy, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement construction strategies for the expansion into new markets, specifically focusing on Mohave County, La Paz County, Yavapai County, and Flagstaff.
- Project Oversight: Oversee all phases of construction projects from planning and design through execution and completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgetary constraints.
- Lead and mentor a team of construction directors, managers, project managers, and field staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with various stakeholders, including local government agencies, contractors, and vendors, to facilitate smooth project execution and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that all construction activities meet industry standards and comply with safety regulations. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor progress and quality.
- Manage resource allocation for projects, including labor, materials, and equipment, ensuring optimal utilization to maximize efficiency.
- Develop and manage project budgets, monitoring costs and implementing corrective actions as necessary to prevent budget overruns.
- Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities for growth and expansion, providing insights and recommendations to the executive team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing large-scale projects in the telecommunications or infrastructure sector.
- Proven track record of successfully managing multiple construction projects simultaneously, particularly in new market development.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal construction regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse workforce.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
