Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, and outpatient facilities. Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a positive environment.
- Help with mobility and transportation of patients within the facility.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient areas to ensure a safe environment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Support patients in rehabilitation exercises as directed by medical staff.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a medical-surgical or clinic setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with working in a Level I Trauma Center or teaching hospital is advantageous.
- Knowledge of hospital medicine, emergency medicine, outpatient care, geriatrics, and inpatient procedures is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Certification as a Personal Care Assistant or similar qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
