What you’ll be responsible for:

Our Controller will oversee all financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, optimizing financial performance, and supporting executive leadership with data-driven decision-making.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger
  • Ensures smooth functioning of day-to-day operations
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and hospitality industry standards, with support from 3rd party accounting team
  • Develop financial forecasts, budgets, and variance reports to ensure profitability and cost control
  • Conduct cash flow management and optimize working capital
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and industry regulations, including tax filings and audits
  • Partner with General Managers and Department Heads to optimize financial performance
  • Analyze hotel/restaurant revenue streams, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements
  • Support with financial aspects of capital projects, renovations, and asset acquisitions
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud
  • Ensure accuracy of revenue recognition and daily financial reconciliations
  • Optimize the use of hospitality accounting software utilized
  • Implement automation and process improvements to streamline accounting workflows
  • Monitor hotel financial metrics (ADR, RevPAR, GOPPAR, labor cost ratios, etc.) to improve decision-making
  • Lead and mentor the operational team, fostering a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration
  • Provide training on financial best practices and compliance for hotel managers and staff
  • Serve as the primary liaison for auditors, banks, vendors, and investors
  • Assist in underwriting of potential acquisitions, renovation budget formulation and analytics, and portfolio impact
  • Evaluate accounting and internal control systems and implement best-in-class practices that allow the company to scale
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality Management
  • 5 years of accounting/finance experience in the hospitality industry (hotel or restaurant)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, hospitality financial standards, and tax regulations
  • Proficiency in hospitality accounting software (e.g., M3, Sage, QuickBooks, PMS/POS)
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-property environment and travel at times if required

  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 15 pounds (e.g., files, laptops, financial reports)
  • Frequent walking, standing, and moving between office spaces and hotel properties
  • Visual acuity required for reviewing financial documents and working with digital screens
  • Ability to verbally communicate with team members, vendors, and executives effectively

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

Salary : $85,000 - $95,000
