What you’ll be responsible for:
Our Group Sales Manager is responsible for generating and maximizing group business for the hotel by proactively identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with clients. This role focuses on selling guest room blocks, meeting space, and catering services to corporate, social, and association groups to achieve revenue goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Lead the development of group sales strategy and implementation across the department and company
- Identify and cultivate relationships with potential group clients, including corporations, associations, and event planners
- Conduct site visits and presentations to showcase facilities and services to prospective clients
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with group clients to secure profitable bookings
- Build strong long-term relationships with key decision-makers within client organizations
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to target specific group markets and achieve sales goals
- Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities.
- Create targeted marketing campaigns to attract group bookings
- Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities for operational team members
- Monitor sales performance and identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with other departments like operations, catering, and event planning to ensure seamless execution of group events
- Manage the group sales pipeline, including tracking leads, opportunities, and closing rates
- Utilize software tools to maintain organization of bookings and leads
- Prepare detailed proposals and contracts for group bookings
- Track key sales metrics and provide regular reports to senior management on sales performance
- Analyze sales data to identify trends and make informed decisions regarding sales strategies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Bachelor’s degree or above in business, management, public relations, advertising, sales, or related field
- 3 years of experience in hospitality-specific group sales and/or management is preferred
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in hotel sales software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of local and national market trends in the hospitality industry
- Flexibility to travel for sales calls, meetings, and industry events as needed
- Ability to work in varying temperatures
