In addition to our metal fabrication, we have a top-of- the-line CNC Machining Department, Powder Coating Services, and Installation Division which handles the installation of our product as well as general maintenance and repair on light duty diesel trucks. To aid in the expansion of our product line and manufacturing capabilities, we have relocated to a newly constructed state of the art, climate controlled, 112,000 sq ft facility as of January 2022.

Position Summary

This position primarily focuses on, and will be the lead role, in the rebuilding of Allison 1000 series light duty diesel transmissions for performance applications. This includes but is not limited to transmission diagnostic, troubleshooting, complete disassembly and rebuilding, removal and installation. Transmission rebuilding duties are performed in a well-lit, climate controlled, clean room location of the shop. Additionally, this position provides technical support to the Performance Division. Job duties will include but are not limited to general light duty diesel pickup truck diagnostic, repair, and performance part installation.

The role may interface with customers and work with the Performance Shop Manager to support the different areas of the organization to maximize the output of diesel trucks.

Diesel Technician Responsibilities

· Perform all vehicle maintenance in accordance with industry established guidelines.

· Trouble shoot and perform diagnostics on assigned trucks.

· Install OEM and after-market parts.

· Support other mechanics as needed to meet deadlines and provide exceptional quality products.

· Obtain instructions from Performance Manager for daily responsibilities.

· Communicate with co-workers to coordinate activities.

· Utilize and understand proper personal protective equipment.

· Maintain a clean and safe work area.

· Return all equipment, parts, etc. to proper storage areas.

· Perform other duties assigned by the manager from time to time.

Diesel Technician Requirements

· High School Diploma or GED

· ASE or comparable certification, a plus.

· 3 years automotive technician experience (diesel preferred but not required).

· Transmission rebuilds, repair, diagnostic experience, preferred

· Valid driver’s license.

· Working knowledge of welding and fabrication.

· Possess and utilize requisite tools to perform role at high standard.

· Understanding and navigation of various computer applications and the Internet.

· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently during the workday.

· Ability to bend, stoop, twist, climb and balance frequently during the workday.

· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Strong time management skills

· Ability to collaborate and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.

· A willingness to learn and work overtime when required.

· Work well with others in a team setting.

· Have a good work record of self-motivation, judgment, productivity, and safety.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for long periods of time. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls and climb or balance. The employee is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl and to talk and hear.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Full time, First shift, M-F

Pay Scale: Hourly, $25/hr. - $35/hr.
