Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of grocery department operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, effective customer relations, and seamless associate scheduling.
- Promote a positive work environment by instilling excellent customer service behaviors in associates and resolving customer concerns promptly.
- Manage inventory levels and review orders to ensure product quantities meet customer demand, maintaining backroom organization and product storage according to company guidelines.
- Schedule and oversee training, provide coaching and feedback, evaluate work performance, recognize achievements, and delegate tasks to effectively utilize talents and abilities.
- Develop and implement merchandising plans, collaborating with other departments and store management to create visually appealing displays and meet sales and profit objectives.
- Maintain a secure and organized backroom and receiving area through the promotion of 5S procedures, responsible for general sanitation in the department.
- Control expenses within budgeted expectations, minimize damages and shrinkage through proper product handling and rotation.
Qualifications:
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is desired; an associate or bachelor's degree in a business-related field is highly desirable.
- Experience: At least three years of experience in management of a retail/supermarket environment is required.
