Summary

We are searching for a self-motivated and outgoing Events Manager to build business relationships, generate excitement around our organization, grow sales, and amplify brand awareness through the planning and execution of influential events.

You will partner closely across Carolina Cat and shared services to develop strategy for and execute customer and community-facing experiences. As part of the experience, you will gather customer insights to positively differentiate our company and our go-to-market brands while supporting corporate and division business goals. You will also lead the planning and production of all internal large-scale employee engagement experiences. These experiences could be virtual, in-person, or hybrid events.

You will be responsible for conceptualizing event themes, preparing and managing event timelines, coordinating technical aspects, creating promotional marketing campaigns and communications, managing event staff, controlling budget spend, preparing pre- and post-event reports, and tracking overall event performance. We are looking for innovation, return on investment, continuous improvement, excellent customer experience and intentionality in our event strategy and execution.

Your creativity and vision will assist our organization in amplifying brand visibility, enhancing customer and employee relations, and improving our organization's growth through events that effectively communicate business strategy and brand personality. The ideal candidate for this role should have superior organizational skills, great leadership qualities, excellent multi-tasking skills, superb interpersonal skills, and an overall collaborative management approach. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

Event Management and Strategy

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to plan and execute influential events with the purpose of enhancing our company image, improving customer and employee relations, and driving business growth.
  • Develop scope, budget, and desired outcomes for a variety of event types, such as sponsorships and trade shows, new product and service launches, marketing campaign support, open houses, community relations, customer education and appreciation, and employee engagement.
  • Serve as event project lead for pre-event consultation and planning, venue selection, agenda development and event flow, staffing, pre- and post-event feedback gathering and reporting.
  • Manage annual budget and tactical budget per event and provide updated reports to management to track return on investment and evaluate event effectiveness.
  • Own annual event calendars for all divisional businesses and the broader, internal organization.
  • Document and continuously improve the event strategy and process routinely by, leveraging technology, researching, and implementing best practices. 

Customer and Event Insights

  • Provide regular reports to management to track return on investment and evaluate event effectiveness.
  • Anticipate the needs of event patrons/customers and deliver an enhanced customer experience from beginning to end.
  • Employ innovative and consistent approaches to capture the voice of our customers. 
  • Communication and Content
  • Engage in media communication stories/PR, content creation before, during and after events.
  • Plan and create communications and creative assets to support the achievement of event objectives.
  • Plan and manage large-scale virtual or hybrid events across the company.
  • Curate articles and blog material for customer events and customer profiles for print and digital channels to promote our customer events and experiences.
  • Ensure consistent and intentional awareness of events is communicated with necessary stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • 4-year degree in marketing, communications, business administration or equivalent.
  • Three to five years of directly related work experience is required
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to distill a message to the most defined state
  • Ability to translate complex information into consumable content for a broad audience
  • Self-starter and positive team player who can easily flex and pivot when priorities change
  • Champion of organizational purpose, values, and culture
  • Confident in presenting to senior leaders with ability to influence others without authority
  • Can be entrusted with confidential and sensitive company information
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, organizational and time management abilities
  • Digital savvy and good working knowledge of social channels (FB, Insta, LI, Twitter, YouTube)
  • Expert use of MS Office, Powerpoint
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and the ability to swiftly update template-based graphics
  • Strong proofreading abilities and adherence to AP Style standards
  • Some experience with video creation and editing preferred

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, depending on site location, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and equipment. The employee may occasionally be exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee may occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in some work environments is occasionally loud.
