Key Responsibilities:
- Execute a plan of continued improvement of machine safety and general housekeeping
- Work with crews to complete all preventative maintenance
- Work with machine operator to troubleshoot and determine root cause of mechanical issues
- Respond quickly to maintenance requests and prioritize effectively
- Work hand in hand with Maintenance Manager to resolve any accident waiting to happen forms
- Work as a team to maintain organization and inventory of maintenance shop and tools
- Duties may vary depending on location
Essential Functions:
- Manage all maintenance technicians providing them with leadership and opportunities to learn and improve.
- Ensure proper scheduling of all technicians.
- Manage and maintain a cost-effective preventive maintenance program.
- Successfully manages through clear communication on goals, training, coaching, and mentoring. All while developing them with consistent feedback, and motivation through encouragement to enable their success and establish a positive working environment.
- Schedule required Preventive Maintenance on all machinery.
- Respond to emergency work orders within established parameters of timely response.
- Duties and responsibilities are subject to change based on business needs.
- Performs Lockout/Tag-out per procedure for required operations.
- Installing, Lubricating, troubleshooting and repairing equipment in compliance with plant codes, policies and procedures
- Repairing and maintaining Corrugated plant machinery in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer specifications
- Read and understand drawings, troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic mechanical systems including valves, solenoids.
- Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures and actively participating in the safety program
- Effectively communicating work performed and equipment statuses both written and verbally.
- Sharing your knowledge and gaining knowledge from the rest of the team is essential.
Pre-requisite Skills:
1. A minimum of 10 years of corrugating manufacturing experience
2. A minimum of 5 years of prior supervisory experience, a plus
3. Experience with the Fosber corrugator machine, a plus
4. Thrive to ensure 2% or less maintenance downtime on the Corrugator(s).
5. Solid mix of electro-mechanical industrial maintenance, hydraulics and pneumatics, knowledge is required.
6. Ability to troubleshoot/replace PLC’s, VFD’s, A/C motors, D/C motors, analog and digital sensors, bearings, gearboxes, and hydraulic/pneumatic components.
7. Ability to troubleshoot/repaired Fosber, ACS roller and modular flat belt conveyors, weishaupt Boilers, Signode Banders, Water Chillers, Air Compressors, Balemaster Baler/Shredder.
8. Ability to calibrate machines; electrically and mechanically.
9. Automation technicians design and service control systems ranging from electromechanical devices and PLCs.
10. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
11. Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of plant operations and facility management.
12. Knowledge and ability to read/interpret schematics, highly preferred.
13. Experience and compliance with OSHA regulations.
14. Self-motivated, dependable, punctual, and organized.
15. Must be able to operate equipment including but not limited to fork trucks, and other lifting devices.
16. Ability to start machines and equipment to test the operation following repair.
17. Use machine shop and other tools such as power drills, reciprocating drill, band saw, reciprocating saw, hand grinder, and bench grinder.
18. This position will report directly to the Maintenance Manager.
19. Duties and responsibilities are subject to change based on business needs.
20. All candidates must be willing to work any available shift; as well as overtime as needed.
