SUMMARY
The Payroll and Benefits Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of payroll processing and employee benefits administration. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll operations, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective communication of benefit offerings to employees. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of payroll and benefits systems, and a commitment to delivering exceptional employee service.
*** This role is on-site Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm in Elkhart, Indiana. ***
THE ROLE
Payroll Supervision:
• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for 2,000 employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Serve as a backup to the payroll processing team.
• Manage and maintain HRIS, ensuring data integrity and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare necessary reports for accounting and auditing purposes.
• Address payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve issues promptly.
Benefits Administration:
• Manage the company’s benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, disability, life insurance, and other employee perks.
• Drive and manage the open enrollment processes, including training the HR team, creating employee communications, and ensuring system updates.
• Collaborate with benefits vendors and brokers to ensure competitive and cost-effective offerings.
• Handle benefits-related inquiries and resolve employee issues with a high level of customer service.
• Handle FMLA documentation and approval/denial of claim requests and supporting employees with STD and LTD needs.
• Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and other relevant regulations.
Compliance and Reporting:
• Stay updated on payroll tax laws, labor regulations, and benefits-related legislation.
• Prepare and file necessary compliance reports, including tax forms, 401(k) audits, Form 5500, and other required filings.
• Conduct regular audits of payroll and benefits data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Compensation Responsibilities:
• Calculate monthly commission statements for the sales associates across the organization
• Calculate and distribute communication related to executive compensation twice annually
• Calculate and distribute communication related to our shared success program
KEY FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Strong knowledge of regulatory and legislative issues impacting Benefits (COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, HSA, ERISA, etc.). Should be able to provide guidelines to employees, managers, and directors.
• Knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirements related to employee benefits.
• Must be familiar with all aspects of self-funded plan administration including required testing, Form 5500 preparation, and plan design, and regulations related to the retirement plan.
• Strong HRIS acumen.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
• 5 years' experience working in payroll and benefits and/or Human Resources; manufacturing a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, or related field and/or equivalent work experience
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced, metrics-driven environment
• Flexible; team player; self-starter; self-motivated
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task
• Is motivated by supporting employees through payroll and benefit concerns
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials during the workday. Proper lifting techniques required.
May include lifting to 25 pounds for files, computer, printers on occasion.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as Safety Glasses, Shoes, and mandatory hearing protection.
Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
