What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Coordinator position at Welcome Home Angel?
About Welcome Home Angel
Founded in 2007, the mission of Welcome Home Angel is to bring joy to children with significant health or life altering conditions and relief to their families by creating happier and more functional living spaces. We change children’s lives by giving their bedroom and other living spaces a total makeover. We create a healing (and happy!) environment that gives comfort and provides a better quality of life for the entire family.
About the Position
The Project Coordinator will work with volunteer Design Teams to assist with all Angel projects and is responsible for processing nominations and applications and scheduling the initial home assessment. The position helps the family navigate the first stages of the process until the project is approved, and then provides support to Design Teams, coordinating volunteers for projects, and planning the Big Reveal. Once the project is complete, the position will ensure the case is closed out, expenses are reconciled, and a post-makeover evaluation is submitted to the families after 3 months and again after one year. This job requires frequent travel throughout the Wilmington area, and into surrounding counties.
Welcome Home Angel uses The 6 Working Geniuses Framework across staff and volunteer teams to help people discover their natural gifts and thrive in their work and life. When people can better understand the types of work that bring them more energy and fulfillment and avoid work that leads to frustration and failure, they can be more self-aware, more productive and more successful. Working Genius identifies the six fundamental activities that are required for any type of work and provides a simple framework for how work gets done. The Project Coordinator work requires high levels of Enablement, to support and encourage teams throughout a project, and Tenacity, to push projects to completion that achieves results. While WHA does not require the assessment to apply for this role, it’s helpful to understand the nature of the work involved and to self-assess whether those ‘geniuses’ align with your work style.
