What are the responsibilities and job description for the Application Analyst Supervisor position at Weld County Government?
The Application Analyst Supervisor role in Weld County’s Information Technology Department is a supervisor level role that is also responsible for Senior level day-to-day application and user support throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
Technical – 20%:
- Technical responsibilities include providing technical knowledge and assistance to the business unit on applications, works with vendors to understand and ensure technical requirements of application are being met, works with Technical Operations to ensure appropriate computing environments are configured, installs business applications on servers, and works with Technical Support to test their installation of the business applications. . Keep abreast of technical changes/developments within applications supported. Works with IT Security to ensure applications are patched and maintained at the most current level and vulnerabilities are remediated.
Functional - 20%:
- Functional responsibilities include consulting with business partners to identify and document application needs and project requirements, make recommendations on solution options, create RFP’s, tracks and documents changes to functional and business specifications, and develops, coordinates, and implements plans to test business and functional processes during system development and user acceptance testing.
Supervision – 20%:
- The Application Analyst Supervisor is responsible for staff supervision and general oversight of an application portfolio. Staff supervision will include workload management, project portfolio management, cross training for application support, team building, and professional development. The role will maintain a 3-5 year technology plan for application maintenance, make recommendations for changes in technology, and make recommendations for annual budget requests.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or related degree or equivalent years of experience
- Minimum 6 years of related experience at at Senior Level
- Prior experience supervising technical staff
