    POSITION: Coordinator of Exceptional Student Services and Special Programs

    SALARY RANGE: A salary range of $60,000-$95,000. 215 Day contract.

    Position Summary: The Coordinator of Exceptional Student Services and Special Programs is responsible for overseeing the implementation and management of educational programs designed to support students with unique needs, including disabilities, gifted abilities, and other special circumstances, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while collaborating with teachers, administrators, parents, and specialists to provide appropriate interventions and accommodations for each student. Key duties include developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), coordinating staff training, monitoring student progress, and advocating for the needs of exceptional learners within the Weld Re-8 school district.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Responsible for the development, implementation, administration, supervision, maintenance, monitoring, and evaluation of special education policies, procedures, and services for students with disabilities. Ensure that policies and procedures set forth for the District to follow comply with federal and state laws, rules, and regulations. Responsible for following board and District policy regarding leadership and guidance of the Special Education Department. Collaborate with CAO and COO to implement a District-wide system of data review and effective instructional strategies that support the needs of all students.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in Special Education in addition to a Current CDE Teacher License in Special Education.
    • Preferred current Special Education Director Licensure by Colorado Dept. of Education
    • Minimum of five years of experience required as a special education teacher in public education

    • Ability to use computer/technology and applicable software
    • Ability to plan and supervise the work of others
    • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with staff and the public
    • Ability to operate computers/technology to manage records and other writing materials
    • Ability to orally communicate effectively with others, with or without the use of an interpreter
    • Ability to communicate effectively in writing, using the English language with or without the use of auxiliary aids or services
    • Ability to review, understand, and apply concepts presented in training programs, conferences, and/or professional literature
    • Ability to work with and cooperate with staff at all levels
    • Ability to observe and follow all school division policies at all times
    • Ability to keep student and personnel information and records confidential
    • Possess high moral standards and integrity
    • Demonstrate professional and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with school personnel and members of the community


    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    • All contracts/agreements for employment of personnel shall be subject to the approval of the Board of Education.
    • No smoking is allowed in any Weld County School District Re 8 buildings.
    • Direct deposit of payroll is a condition of employment.
