    POSITION: Fort Lupton Middle School Principal

    SALARY RANGE: Administrative Salary Schedule Plus School District Comprehensive Benefits Package.Salary range of $132,295-$103,567 depending on experience and education.

    POSITION SUMMARY: Fort Lupton Middle School is located in Fort Lupton Colorado with grades 6-8. There are approximately 438 students. The school has approximately 81% minority students with a free and reduced population of 63%.
    POSITION GOAL
    To assist the principal in providing vision and leadership to develop, administer and monitor high-quality educational programs that optimize the human and material resources, including time and space, available for a successful and safe school program for students, staff, and community.

    Essential Performance Responsibilities

    • Exercise proactive leadership in promoting the vision and mission of the District’s Strategic Plan.
    • Utilize collaborative leadership style and quality processes to assist in establishing and monitoring a school mission and goals that are aligned with the District’s mission and goals through active participation of stakeholders’ involvement in the school improvement process with the School Advisory Council (SAC).
    • Assist in achieving expected results on the school’s Unified Improvement Plan..
    • Direct energy, influence and resources toward data analysis for instructional improvement, development, and implementation of quality standards-based curricula.
    • Demonstrate that student learning is a top priority through leadership actions that build and support a learning organization focused on school success.
    • Assist in working collaboratively to develop, implement and monitor an instructional framework that aligns curriculum with State standards, effective instructional practices, student learning needs and assessments.
    • Assist in recruiting, retaining, developing and evaluating an effective and diverse faculty and staff.
    • Facilitate effective professional learning and provide timely feedback to faculty and staff to improve their professional performance and offer assistance to strengthen weaknesses in performance.
    • Assist in establishing and maintaining individual professional development plans for each instructional employee that is linked to student achievement.
    • Assist in monitoring the implementation of critical initiatives including, but not limited to Best First Instructional Practices, PLC’s, Culturally Responsive Classrooms, and horizontal and vertical articulation within the school and feeder schools.
    • Assist in structuring and monitoring a school learning environment that improves learning for a diverse student population.
    • Assist in establishing and coordinating procedures for student, teacher, parent and community collaboration in student learning.
    • Assist in implementing and monitoring procedures to ensure that rights of all children and their parents are protected.\
    • Assist in implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support and restorative justice practices

    QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

    • M. A. in Educational Administration or related area with Colorado Initial or Professional Principal License.
    • Competencies, willingness, and drive to serve as principal.
    • Minimum of three years of successful public middle school classroom teaching experience and a minimum of three years’ experience as a Middle School Administrator preferred; experience as an administrator (at any level) required.
    • Demonstrated school leadership and instructional leadership abilities; lead change and manage transitions; keep focus on student achievement; lead, implement, monitor and revise school improvement plans, including 90 day plans each semester; communicate and collaborate with district leadership; maintain a focus on school reform that provides rigor, relevance and positive relationship for students.
    • Experience in educational leadership with a deep understanding of effective instruction. Experience evaluating and coaching instructional and classified personnel; experience establishing and leading Professional Learning Communities.
    • Proven community engagement.
    • Demonstrated ability and commitment in staff and community relations, supporting and developing/promoting a positive school climate, shared decision-making, site-based management and school improvement processes that support the district goals and accreditation process; leadership based on data-driven and research-based solutions.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop a team; goal oriented.
    • Thoroughly grounded in middle school education, teaming and effective classroom instruction. Prefer experience and training in AVID.
    • Elementary or middle/junior high/high school instructional leaders (Principals, Assistant Principals, looking to bring their leadership skills to the middle school level are strongly encouraged to apply.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of Colorado standards and assessments and the ability to facilitate data driven instruction and the standards based classroom. Prefer experience with Infinite Campus and Alpine Achievement (or similar software).
    • Experience working with diverse populations.
    • Bilingual/Biliterate skills Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred, but not required.
    • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
