Terms of Employment
Full-time, 225 days. Salary is based on education and experience and will be prorated per our Certified Salary Schedule not to exceed letter I ($60,160 to $95,980). The District provides its employees with a comprehensive benefits program including medical, life, and dental insurance. The District provides two medical plans for which it pays the full premium for employees, and a third option is a buy-up plan for which the district pays the majority of the premium. In addition, the District pays the full employee premium for dental insurance and life insurance. Worker’s compensation and unemployment insurance are provided in accordance with State law.Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, teach students in all agricultural systems pathways aligned with our program approval with emphasis on Animal Systems, Plant Systems, and Power Structural and Technical Systems (willing to develop opportunities in other approved agricultural pathways depending on hired teacher interest), develop and maintain supervised agricultural experiences for all students, and enhance youth leadership through the implementation of FFA. Provide classroom learning experiences to students through innovative teaching methodologies. Supervise and coordinate laboratory assignments and field work. Maintain student academic records, including their grades and performances. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in future career endeavors.Essential Functions
- Conduct an instructional program that educates students about career pathways in agriculture.
- Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and translate lesson plans into learning
- Enhance youth leadership and FFA as an integral part of instruction.
- Provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to compete in a global economy.
- Remain abreast and inform students about agriculture and agricultural literacy.
- Initiate, facilitate and moderate classroom discussions.
- Create lesson plans that are in conformity with school policy for all courses offered.
- Oversee supervised agricultural experience programs for all students who receive instruction.
- Supervise and maintain the school laboratory used for students’ supervised agricultural experiences.
- Plan and conduct an organized program of instruction and/or community involvement with adults. This may include, but is not limited to alumni, young farmers and booster clubs. Most of this instruction will be given after school, at night and during the summer.
- Prepare and submit FFA rosters, entries, registrations, etc. promptly and keep an accurate file copy of all records and reports.
- Attend area, state and national training meetings.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs.
- Maintain familiarity with district and Colorado State standardized tests for the purpose of adapting curriculum to maximize student achievement on such tests.
- Continue to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the
- Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
- Encourage parental involvement in students’ education and ensure effective communication with students and parents.
- Ensure that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies, and establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Coordinate with other professional staff members, especially within grade level, and participate in faculty meetings and committees.
- Select and requisition appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintain inventory records.

Qualifications Profile Certification/License:
- Colorado State Certification:: Agriculture Education or
- CTE Credential in Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources
Education:
- Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
Experience:
