Terms of Employment
Full time position - 187 days. Position is for the remainder of the 2024-25 school year. 8 hours per day. Pay per Classified Salary Schedule - Category I ($18.00 - $27.44). This position qualifies for benefits. The District provides its employees with a comprehensive benefits program including medical, life, and dental insurance. The District provides two medical plans for which it pays the full premium for employees, and a fourth option is a buy-up plan for which the district pays the majority of the premium. In addition, the District pays the full employee premium for dental insurance and life insurance. The District contributes to PERA on each employee's behalf and offers additional retirement savings options as well as optional supplemental insurance. Employees also receive paid time off. Worker’s compensation and unemployment insurance are provided in accordance with State law. This position qualifies for paid leave: 4 annual leave days and 7 sick leave days
Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the principal or other school administrator, to assist certified professional employees in the media center to enable students to effectively use the instructional materials in the center, and to acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities to take full advantage of library materials and resources.

Position Purpose

Essential Functions
- Assists students in locating reference and other instructional materials, and in developing knowledge, skill and abilities to gain independence and fully utilize the library materials and resources.
- Assists in reinforcement in reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, media and other skills.
- Assists in maintaining the circulation desk operations and circulation files.
- Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning.
- Operate audio visual equipment as needed.
- Assist in cataloging and filing learning materials.
- Constructs, copies, distributes and uses educational materials.
- Serves as a reference guide for students.
- Arranges book displays, exhibits and other items to provide an appropriate learning resource environment and maximize students' interest in reading and learning.
- Assists with the selection of library materials and resources, and in weeding out old outdated materials and books.
- Assists in the utilization and maintenance of instructional and non-instructional library equipment, including a personal computer if necessary.
- Works with outside vendors for fundraisers and inventory purchases.
