Distribution Center Associate

Welders Supply Company, a privately-owned distributor/manufacturer of commercial, industrial and medical gases, dry ice and welding equipment, has a 1st shift full time position available for a dependable Warehouse Associate at our Big Bend, Wisconsin location. The Distribution Center Associate is responsible for providing materials, equipment, and supplies to customers by performing receiving, warehousing, distribution, truck loading/unloading and shipping duties. The DC Associate receives products for both shipping and warehousing purposes, pulls, packs, prepares packing slips and ships customer orders in an accurate and timely manner (usually same day).

Performer Requirements include:
1) Possess appropriate forklift driver’s license (Welders will train)
2) Be mentally alert, adaptable and flexible in dealing with customer needs
3) Complete basic mathematical calculations and accurately fill out paperwork
4) Effectively plan and organize the warehouse, truck loads and delivery schedules
5) Be fluent in the English language
6) Able to stand and walk for 9 hours a day; freely traverse company premises and lift products up to 65 pounds using the appropriate support and lifting devices
7) Move products of varied sizes and weights, sometimes in excess of 200 pounds, using the appropriate equipment and safety procedures
8) Work in diverse indoor and outdoor weather conditions
9) Ascend and descend ladders, stairs and trucks while moving product
10) Bend, reach and reposition self to move materials and shift equipment

Equipment Used: Fork lift, hand cart, hand tools, computer, cell phone and calculator

Qualifications: A High School degree or equivalent with previous warehouse experience preferred and familiarity with UPS WorldShip, and FedEx online shipping software.
