What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Scientist position at Wellbridge Addiction Treatment and Research?
POSITION SUMMARY
The Research Scientist will work closely with the COO, Medical Director and other members of the Wellbridge scientific and leadership team to plan and implement research center activities. Responsible for day-to-day management of all research activities on the Wellbridge residential campus. Aligns closely with senior leadership to create a high level of coordination between clinical and research functions. Works closely with the COO to programmatically build out the research infrastructure and activities, widely publicize center findings, and seek external sources of support.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Works with Wellbridge leadership to ensure that the Research Center mission and activities are aligned with Wellbridge’s vision and goals.
2. Works under the supervision of the COO and Medical Director to plan research protocols.
3. Oversees implementation of research protocols including data collection, quality control, data management, report writing, and presentation of scientific findings.
4. Works closely with clinical leadership to implement a “learning laboratory” culture where clinical and research staff work collaboratively to enhance clinical quality and research productivity.
5. Provides direct clinical services, time permitting, as a strategy to enhance the integration of clinical and research functions.
6. Participates in preparation of research presentations, articles, and grant applications.
7. Selects, develops, manages, and evaluates all research staff.
8. Helps create and monitor research program budgets.
9. Works with the Medical Director and Chairman to develop collaborative relationships with outside organizations, academic institutions and research scientists.
10. Participates and contributes to regular Wellbridge leadership meetings.
Required Qualifications
· Doctoral degree in Psychology (Clinical/ Counseling preferred), or Social Work
· Minimum 2 years of related postdoctoral work experience in clinical research (significant experience with substance use disorders (SUD) preferred).
· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and departments.
· Excellent communication skills: and ability to make independent decisions and work proactively.
· Authored/co-authored publications in peer reviewed scientific journals
· Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
· Experience managing and prioritizing various projects and ability to make decisions as warranted.
· Strong problem solving, conceptual, analytical, and communication skills.
· Ability to deal with complex issues using academic and administrative judgment with a high degree of discretion and diplomacy.
· Ability to create a positive, respectful, collaborative, and team-focused environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
