Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity/Transportation Aide to join our team in providing exceptional care to our residents. The Activity/Transportation Aide will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for seniors by facilitating engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical well-being. This position will also require you to transport/go with the resident to their appointments. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with the elderly and have experience in long-term care settings.
Duties
- Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing recreational and therapeutic activities for residents, including arts and crafts, games, music sessions, and exercise programs.
- Provide support to residents during activities, ensuring their safety and comfort while encouraging participation.
- Foster a positive environment by building rapport with residents and encouraging social interaction among them.
- Monitor resident engagement and provide feedback to the care team regarding individual preferences and needs.
- Maintain accurate records of activity participation and report any changes in residents' behavior or condition to the nursing staff.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a holistic approach to resident care that includes physical, emotional, and social well-being.
- Assist with daily living activities as needed, ensuring that all residents receive the highest standard of care.
- Transport or go with resident to appointments.
Experience
- Previous experience in long-term care, dementia care, memory care, or senior care is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with caregiving techniques and aging issues counseling is highly valued.
- Strong skills in schedule management to effectively coordinate activities within the facility.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while also being able to take initiative when necessary.
- Compassionate demeanor with excellent communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff members.
- Experience in home community care or assisted living settings is a plus.
