What are the responsibilities and job description for the SVP Commercial Property Underwriting Leader position at Welling Young LLC?
Position Overview :
Manage day-to-day responsibilities as leader of a Commercial Property Underwriting Unit. Tasks include but are not limited to, developing a niche Property program (Environmental) with national and regional distribution channels, qualifying opportunities, and utilizing underwriting acumen to select and price sound risks. Work with Marketing to develop new business opportunities through production & marketing calls with brokers and clients.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Develop and build a niche focused property book of business.
- Develop underwriting guidelines and appropriate rates for coverage.
- Hire recruit and train staff required to support the program.
- Establish, develop, and expand broker and customer relationships working independently and in conjunction with Company’s Marketing team.
- Underwrite and grow the book of business.
- Lead a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and make quick decisions while maintaining underwriting integrity.
