Wellington Management, Inc. is a well-established real estate management firm with over 40 years of experience. We oversee a diverse portfolio of 100 commercial buildings and, soon, more than 1,000 housing units across 24 communities in the Twin Cities metropolitan area.

We are seeking a Residential Accountant to join our team and work closely with our residential property management teams.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Management: Execute the full real estate accounting cycle, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Budgeting & Analysis: Prepare annual budgets with site managers, conduct variance analysis, and present budget reports.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process payables, review AR, and address potential issues with site managers.
- Cash Flow Monitoring: Track daily cash positions and reforecast property cash flows.
- Compliance & Auditing: Collaborate with external CPA firms on audits, tax filings, and financial reporting.
- Property Onboarding: Assist in the financial integration of new properties.
- Regulatory Compliance: Support senior staff in tracking housing compliance requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Real Estate, or a related field.
- Minimum five years of progressive residential real estate accounting experience. (Experience with Low Income Housing Tax Credit properties strongly preferred.)
- Proficiency in Yardi software (accounting and payment modules).
- Strong financial reporting and analytical skills.
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to present spreadsheets in a group setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines, particularly during budget and tax seasons.
- On-site position at our St. Paul headquarters (free parking available).
- Some travel to property sites within a 45-minute radius may be required.
- Standard office setting with occasional overtime during peak financial periods.
