Job Description
Perform duties in the Wellmark Logistic Assistance mail Center which include receiving, opening, sorting and distributing incoming mail and packages. Inspect all mail and packages for hazardous or dangerous substances;, deliver and sort internal office mail throughout the headquarters building., Operate and maintain various mailing equipment; including personal computer. Prepare and process outgoing mail according to Postal Regulations. Utilize the understanding of postal regulations and shipping knowledge to handle and respond to customer requests.

Job Description

Qualifications
Required:
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- One year or less of related work experience, including experience as a mail technician or related occupation
- Ability to sort alphabetically and numerically, meet deadlines with minimal supervision, and re-prioritize work as needed while ensuring careful attention to detail
- Must have or be able to attain knowledge regarding postal regulations and logistics systems UPS, USPS, and other systems
- Excellent organizational and effective verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to start at 8:00 a.m. and work a flexible schedule and/or overtime as needed
- Ability to push/pull light objects weighing up to 25 lbs. or requiring up to 25 lbs. of force (mail cart, manual pallet jack); ability to push/pull carts containing up to 70 lbs
- Ability to frequently lift or carry up to 25 lbs by hand
- Valid Driver’s License
- Receive, record, and distribute external/internal mail and shipments using system software.
- Successfully fulfill corporate mailing request according to Postal regulations.
- Perform pre-sort activities including printing reports, verify and process Certified Certificate of Mailing.
- Contact service providers and perform limited equipment maintenance and cleaning as required.
- Responsible for operating and maintaining equipment according to OSHA applicable guidelines.
- Set up, adjust, maintain and operate all Mailing, Insertion, and Ink-Jet Spraying equipment.
- Perform courier service when needed.
- Maintain corporate changes through updating mail casing station and service center maintenance.
- Pick-up, sort, and inspect daily mail following the safe room protocols to prevent the possibility of contamination.
- Perform address data entry for various stakeholders, as necessary.
- Answer general mail service questions and inquiries from stakeholders, either in person, electronically or telephonically.
- Handle return mail duties according the mail service and departmental guidelines.
- Perform print-to-mail functions that contain Personal Health Information (PHI) according the mail service protocols.
- Assist with in training new or existing employees on mail service procedures and guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
