The Controller is responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s accounting and financial operations, as well as actively serving on the leadership team. This position ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, maintains effective internal controls, and provides strategic financial guidance to senior management. The Controller plays a pivotal role in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

You will perform a combination of various administrative tasks. Your priority will always be accounting duties, however, it will be expected that you actively contribute to and participate in weekly team meetings.

Key duties & Responsibilities:

  • Paying bills as they come in/are placed on your desk - rent is set to be sent the 25th of each month
  • Payroll processing
  • Accounts payable/receivable
  • Business taxes, sales tax, and filing
  • Budgeting
  • Forecasting
  • Recording donations
  • Bank runs/deposits
  • Track and tabulate total compensation numbers in grid
  • Track and Report comp.’d goods to appropriate vendors
  • Anything pertinent to employee deductions: wage garnishments, FOC/child support; reimbursements, CE registration fees/lodging, license/certification renewals; workers compensation
  • Square transactions, pricing updates
  • Credit card reconciling
  • Reconciling bills against charges captured
  • Run transaction reports
  • Update Alle/Aspire tracking spreadsheet
  • Keep commission payroll spreadsheet up to date
  • Update goals/tracking spreadsheets for employees
  • Employee Benefits Administration–health insurance benefits, 401K, payroll
  • Month-end credit card reconciling
  • Auditing check-out sheets for errors/discrepancies
  • Identify cost-savings initiatives/negotiate lower rates on goods/services
  • Submit applications to MPIE for any newly hired employees

  • Excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Checking email every day and responding to emails within 24-48 business hours
  • Wear pre-approved scrubs or business casual
  • Wear Name tag if attire is not embroidered by Wellness Co. with name
  • Following all policies & guidelines stated in the Wellness Co. Handbook.
  • Learning about products & services to the best of your ability
  • Attend weekly Leadership Meetings and regular Team Meetings
  • Participate in and contribute to EOS training
  • Taking responsibility for actions and/or mistakes & self-reflecting to design a strategy to learn from those mistakes.
  • Having a positive attitude and working hard.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers, patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner at all times
  • Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Works well under pressure and does not waiver in working as a team
  • Comfortable asking for help when needed
  • Exercises sound decision making. Commitment to ethical conduct.

Experience:

  • At least 5–10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Economics.
  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Finance is often preferred.

Certifications (preferred):

  • CPA, CMA, or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
  • BBA in finance

Skills:

  • Advanced understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of tax compliance, regulatory requirements, and risk management.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $32,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 18 per week
