Every day, more architects, engineers, contractors, developers, and owners specify Wells precast building components for their construction needs and with this continued success, we are looking to hire a motivated self-starting Batch Plant Operator to join our team. This person assists the Batch Plant team with producing and pouring the perfect mix of concrete. The right candidate will have at least 1 year of experience working in the construction / factory / manufacturing environment, at least 1 year of concrete experience, and also be willing and ready to learn!
Description : The Batch Plant Operator is responsible for the daily operation of the batch plant as well as general labor activities as directed by the Plant Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce consistent quality mixes, keeping quality issues to a minimum.
- Strong emphasis on safety and quality assurance.
- Coordinate and communicate with production to make sure all deliveries and deadlines are met.
- Facilitate daily preventative maintenance in the batch plant.
- Monitor daily moistures.
- Follow instruction of Supervisor and standard operating procedures to complete daily activities associated with production of precast products in a safe and efficient manner.
- Safely operate hand tools & power tools.
- Pour concrete into forms; use shovels and rakes to move concrete; use finishing tools to produce a finished surface.
- Assist in the set up / layout of production lines : pull cables, place stress on cables, disassemble and clean forms after use.
- Assist is stripping of product off production lines, loading and unloading.
- General clean up.

Starting wage for this position is $22.18 / hr.- $30.14 / hr.
