About This Role

Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Architect for Consumer Credit Cards domain with in Consumer Technology Architecture team. This senior technical professional is responsible for Consumer Credit Cards Architecture (L4) and the associated business-technology strategies.

This role is a key liaison with internal teams such as financial product development, operations, marketing, digital product development, design, technology, legal, risk and compliance. Experience in Credit Cards, Cloud, Data, DevSecOps, Domain Driven Design, Archimate, Architecture Frameworks (TOGAF) is foundational to the role.

In This Role, You Will

  • Architect modern, scalable and secure Consumer Credit Cards systems, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and best practices to deliver robust, reliable and compliant solutions.
  • Act as a Technology advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
  • Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
  • Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of architects and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and excellence
  • Drive continuous improvement through rigorous evaluation of existing systems and processes, recommending and implementing enhancements to optimize performance, reliability and cost efficiency

Required Qualifications:

  • 10 years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 7 years of experience in one or a combination of the following: systems, applications, or architecture planning
  • 5 years in Engineering/Architecture in Consumer Credit Cards domain
  • 3 years in building/using private/public/hybrid cloud environments

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5 years in payments and financial services industry experience
  • Knowledge and experience with Consumer Credit Cards architecture including originations, servicing and rewards
  • Experience in Cloud, Data, DevSecOps and Domain Driven Design,
  • Experience in Architecture Frameworks like Archimate, TOGAF, and Agile
  • Research and Analysis including Financial Analysis
  • Experience in building Architecture strategy and roadmaps
  • Exceptional communication skills to work with all levels of business and technical teams
  • Ability to partner with many different platform engineering and architecture teams on architecture that spans multiple areas
  • Ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management
  • Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships and provide mentorship to other architects
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Job Expectations:

  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$144,400.00 - $300,000.00
