About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic individual to fill Cloud Business Operations & Strategy Technology Director (M4) role.
This role will lead critical functions supporting the strategy, administration, and financial optimization of our cloud organization. This role ensures efficient alignment of resources and business strategies across cloud functions, working to optimize costs, operating model and delivery. As part of Wells Fargo Technology’s CTO organization within the Application & Cloud Transformation (ACT) team, this position partners with key stakeholders to ensure effective operational and financial management across the organization.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Defining and executing strategic plans that align with Wells Fargo’s cloud goals, ensuring alignment with the broader CTO and ACT objectives.
- Leading and tracking major cloud initiatives and cross-functional projects; manage the cloud product portfolio to ensure strategic alignment, progress monitoring, and performance tracking.
- Overseeing financial planning, budgeting, and cost optimization across all cloud environments, working closely with product teams and cloud consumers to drive efficient cloud usage.
- Managing relationships with cloud vendors, including contract negotiations, renewals, and performance evaluations to ensure cost-effectiveness and service quality.
- Developing and maintaining a workforce plan that supports the evolving needs of the cloud organization, focusing on forecasting and resource allocation.
- Delivering key insights and analytics on performance, costs, and resource utilization, providing data-driven reports that inform decision-making and cloud investments.
- Partnering with the Cloud Platform Engineering, Product Management, and DISP Migration Planning & Factory teams to drive alignment and support cloud strategic initiatives.
- Collaborating and influencing functional management to obtain resources, influence outcomes, address conflict, and ensure alignment with Wells Fargo strategies or policies and business line objectives.
- Developing and guiding a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy.
Required Qualifications:
- 8 years of experience in IT business operations, strategy, related roles within technology organizations and/or or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 5 years of strong understanding of cloud financial management, including cost optimization and vendor management in multi-cloud environments
- 5 years of proven ability to lead strategic initiatives and drive process improvements across large-scale technology organizations
- 5 years of experience with workforce planning, budgeting, and resource allocation in cloud or IT functions
- 5 years of strong analytical skills, with experience in reporting and providing actionable insights from complex data sets
- 8 years of strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple stakeholders
- 4 years of Management experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in leading financial services or other highly regulated industries
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, OpenShift) and FinOps practices
- Leading change in a large corporate technology environment with a focus on cloud function
- Experience leading a team of program management professionals individuals that work with product and engineering teams to drive cloud adoption
- Experience in collaborating and partnering with other key parts of the organization and drive towards shared goals and success
- Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, at all levels of the organization, including senior executive-level leadership
- Ability to drive and lead organizational change in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
- Ability to be proactive, innovative, and creative in meeting customer and enterprise needs
- Demonstrated experience in building, leading, developing and retaining a high performing team of leaders, strong technical experts and high performing professionals in a cultural environment that achieves results through team member engagement and satisfaction
- Deep knowledge and experience with financial, operational, technical, and regulatory drivers impacting a complex and dynamic global organization.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and facilitating discussion to explore the best possible solutions and possess the ability to lead
- Highly effective decision-making/critical thinking/problem solving skills with a collaborative and results-oriented leadership style
- Recognized internally and externally as a thought leader and subject matter expert

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
