Anesthesiologist Assistant Duties and Responsibilities
As a vital member of the anesthesiology team, the Anesthesiologist Assistant will work closely with the Anesthesiologist to review and assess patient conditions, developing individualized anesthesia management plans.
Essential Functions:
- Administer anesthetic agents, calculating precise doses and monitoring critical parameters.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation, ensuring thorough records of treatment and progress.
- Respond promptly to code/trauma situations, establishing and maintaining airways through intubation while documenting treatment rendered.
- Transport patients from the surgery area to post-anesthesia recovery, communicating patient status to physicians and nurses.
- Provide essential training on airway management to residents, students, and other staff members.
Common Expectations:
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan, interpreting age-specific data to provide tailored treatment.
- Deliver direct patient care to assigned age groups, prioritizing their unique needs.
- Maintain a commitment to patient, visitor, and staff safety by adhering to all applicable regulations, identifying error-prone processes, and participating in education programs.

Qualifications:
- Minimum Education: Master's Degree Required
- Work Experience: 1 year Relevant experience. Required
- Licenses: Licensed Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required or Registered Nurse Multi-State License Upon Hire Required and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Upon Hire Required
- Courses and Training: Graduation from accredited school of nurse anesthesia. Upon Hire Required and Earn 40 CME every 2 years to maintain certification. Upon Hire Required
