Schedule:
8 hours weekly
Monday - Friday 4 or 8-hour shift
Afternoon to evening hours
Every other weekend Saturday and Sunday - 8-hour shifts
Every 3rd holiday - 8-hour shift
General Summary
Performs activities related to transportation of patients. Follows established safety guidelines and uses appropriate devices when transporting patients. Provides messenger services on request
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Transports patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support department areas as directed.
- Assists clinical personnel in transferring patients to or from beds, chairs, wheelchairs or stretchers using appropriate body mechanics to perform patient lifts.
- Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
Common Expectations:
- Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Participates in educational programs and inservice meetings.
- Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
- Performs dispatching duties such as receiving transport requests, dispatching available transporters based on established priorities, coordinating transports to minimize delays and maintaining appropriate documentation.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
