Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Preparation and Care:
- Assess patients to determine the most suitable CT scan procedure based on their medical history and physician's orders.
- Communicate effectively with patients to address questions and concerns and ensure their comfort and cooperation.
- Position patients correctly to achieve accurate imaging while prioritizing their comfort and safety.
- CT Scanning and Equipment Operation:
- Operate CT machines to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Adjust CT scanner settings as necessary to optimize image quality for each procedure.
- Administer contrast agents according to protocol to ensure patient safety.
- Collaboration with Medical Team:
- Work closely with radiologists and physicians to guarantee optimal image quality and provide additional scans or follow-up imaging when required.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team about patient conditions, test results, and any issues encountered during scanning.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field is desirable.
- Licensure and Certification:
- Current ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology is mandatory.
- ARRT-CT certification is preferred or required within a specified timeframe after hiring.
- Experience:
- Prior experience as a Computed Tomography Technologist is beneficial, but new graduates with clinical training may also be considered.
