Responsibilities
WellStar Paulding Nursing Home accepts five (5) inexperienced trainees in a 17-week paid training program to teach individuals, seeking to become CNA's, how to treat and care for residents in a nursing home setting.
Classes are 17 weeks in duration: Monday-Thursday 10:00am-2:30pm for the first week. The schedule hours will vary after the first week and will include some Evenings from 3:00pm to 7:00pm.
This is a 16 hours a week paid training program.
It is a physically demanding position requiring excessive bending, lifting (50 lb. minimum), walking and standing. Duties include but are not limited to bathing, feeding and changing bed linens. There is possible exposure to blood and/or body fluids, hospital grade cleaning solutions, latex, sharps and/or other contact expected in a hospital environment.
FT/PT employment depends on the availability of open positions at the time of graduation AND verification of the state certification. Employment may be offered after successful completion of the class, however, if the student, exhibits poor performance throughout the class employment is not guaranteed.

Required Education
- HS Diploma or equivalent required
Required Experience
- No previous CNA experience required and/or accepted, must complete 130 hours, take and pass a final exam to be eligible for the state certification exam.
