What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Aide position at Wellstone Brand?
We are hiring for a Full-time Behavioral Aide at our Acute Care facility. The Behavioral Aide will assist clients with developing and managing healthy behaviors and routines that may gain them reintegration into the community. The Behavioral Aide assists and works with the Treatment Team staff on client treatment care plans to accomplish this goal.
Shift(s) available: Monday, Wednesday and Sunday nights 7:00PM to 7:00AM
What we're looking for:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Familiar with Computer
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Certified in (or ability to obtain) CPR and SAMA
What you'll be doing:
- Provide consistent instruction, guidance, encouragement and reinforcement to the clients that are committed to the Acute Care facility.
- Regularly implement Basic Living Skills training objectives and document clients' progress in a timely manner in the Electronic Health Record.
- Help to coordinate activities, conduct group therapy, document clients' progress, maintain electronic documentation in timely manner.
- Work closely with Treatment Team.
- Regularly complete documentation of staff notes, incident reports, injury reports, shift observations, and other reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- May be required to lift/push/pull approximately 50 lbs. or transport client.
- Ensure clients comply with rules, maintain a clean and safe environment to include performance of housekeeping, assisting clients where necessary.
- Demonstrate good safety skills including fire drills, emergency procedures and back safety techniques.
- Promote a positive work environment, including positive relationships with supervisors, clients and their families and/or co-workers.
- Administration of medication as supervised and documented.
- Attend staff meetings, in-service meetings, trainings as required and remains current on all trainings/certifications.
- Work as scheduled; correctly complete and submit timesheets and leave requests in a timely manner.
- Report any facility or maintenance issues in a timely fashion and assist in the maintenance/housekeeping of the facility, and equipment.
- Perform verbal and at times physical de-escalation techniques as required, in addition to crisis interventions as properly trained.
- Report to work on time, willing to remain on shift if unable to be relieved, coordinate coverage with other Behavioral Aides for dates unable to report to work, either annual or sick leave requests.
- May have to be escort/guardian for clients who are sent to the Hospital for evaluation.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
