The Senior Fund Accountant will play a critical role in supporting the administration and reporting of Welltower's newly announced $2 billion private investment fund. This position is integral to the fund’s growth, as more properties and investors are added to the portfolio. The role involves close collaboration with the investment team and the fund administrator, ensuring the accurate execution of transactions and compliance with reporting standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Record all fund-related transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Manage the transfer of cash between bank accounts, ensuring payments are made to investors, vendors, and managers from appropriate accounts while maintaining accurate records across entities.
- Oversee and review capital calculations performed by the fund administrator.
- Submit property company (propco) and operating company (opco) financials from Welltower's system to the fund administrator on a monthly basis.
- Prepare or review monthly and quarterly fund financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
- Assist in preparing for the fund’s annual audit, coordinating with external auditors and internal teams.
- Support additional reporting and accounting needs as the fund grows and evolves.

TRAVEL

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification preferred.
- 5 years of experience in fund accounting, real estate investment, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of fund structures, financial reporting, and accounting principles.
- Experience working with private equity real estate or real estate investment funds is a plus.
- Proficiency in financial systems and tools, with the ability to learn new platforms quickly.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
