What are the responsibilities and job description for the Department Trainer position at Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA?
Position Purpose: Under general supervision, the Department Trainer researches, plans, organizes, and conducts training programs for new and existing employees.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
- Conducts needs assessment, including conferring with management and staff, to identify specific skill/knowledge gaps, training objectives, work situations, and changes in policies and procedures.
- Researches course content.
- Develops and maintains course curriculum and instructional programs, including technical classes.
- Trains new employees, and teaches new skills or business systems to existing employees
- Produce effective training presentations, tutorials, instructor and student guides and lesson plans in multiple media and formats suitable to course audience
- Designs, creates, and updates training aids, such as manuals, handouts, course exercises, and visual aids.
- Facilitates regularly scheduled classroom training.
- Confers with department supervisors to identify additional training needs, as required for new staff.
- Evaluates effectiveness of training and modifies programs as needed.
- Schedules training room, arranges equipment, and prepares physical set-up, as needed.
- Maintains training attendance records.
- Responds to individual employee training issues on an as needed basis.
- Maintains current knowledge of organizational and industrial trends and makes appropriate recommendations for new or updated training programs
- Assists with quality assurance monitoring and reporting as necessary.
- Complete all required training applicable to assigned position.
- Additional duties as requested or required.
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree and 2-4 of years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Collections experience is preferred.
- Great writing, documentation, and facilitation skills.
- Strong technical skills especially with Microsoft Office products (i.e. MS Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint).
- Excellent time management and organization.
- Ability to adapt to curriculum changes with ease.
- Knowledge of organizing and planning techniques; office practices and procedures; computer operation; and word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database software; basic knowledge of relevant legal process;
- Ability to identify department training needs; observe, compare, or monitor employee behavior to determine compliance with prescribed operating standards; present a positive image to the public; and effectively engage adult learners.
Work Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit at the work station for extended periods. The employee must have the ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form; enter data into a computer; and operate standard office equipment including computer, telephone, printer, copier, and facsimile machine.
