POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. This role supports the Y’s Teen Initiatives in the development, organization and delivery of high quality program for middles school and high school age groups through Y programs and services. In this position an employee will ensure positive communication with parents, children, schools and other staff; practice risk management; and assists with the development of positive community relations. This position is year round, part time. This position will assist with the coordination and expansion of school year and summer programs and partnerships to support the academic, health and social success of students in accordance with the goals and mission of the YMCA. Provide a quality experience focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Delivery:
Responsible for the successful supervision of the Teen Center Program.
Assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of a broad range of programs, after school, as well as during school breaks including summer.
Ensure program objectives are achieved and in compliance with the school district policies and the YMCA.
Educate community parents, staff and students to the full-service community YMCA’s mission and vision.
Assist with the development, implementation and sustainability of strong programs that meet student needs.
Represent the YMCA and self in a professional manner.
Financial Development and Philanthropy:
Share with the leadership team and the community our stories of impact and change.
Develop relationships with internal/external members to allow for the Y’s financial development success.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must frequently lift or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift or move a higher amount.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Occasionally may need to plan and participate in programming outdoors.
Driving to determined site / outreach locations.
Duties are performed throughout a multistory building.
