What matters to us:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Vocational training and/or verifiable practical work experience in the majority of the following areas: Shipping and receiving; Purchasing practices; Inventory systems
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in purchasing and inventory is required
- Proficient in MS Excel and ability to learn new programs quickly
- Experience with Sage Intacct a plus
- Polished, courteous, & clear communicator written and orally
- Good analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to multitask and prioritize tasks accordingly
- Ability to collaborate and maintain effective working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments
Essential Functions:
- Seek and obtain highest quality merchandise, supplies, and services at the lowest possible purchase cost while ensuring compliance with established organizational processes and procedures
- Analyze inventory records and ensure optimal stock levels
- Keep abreast of changes affecting both the supply chain of and demand for products and materials
- Aid other departments in securing and analyzing quotations for products and services and recommends suppliers with respect to cost and quality
- Ensures individuals who choose Wendell Foster as their service provider have access to all needed supplies
- Process supply requisitions, ensuring appropriate approval, account coding, and document usage for controlling adequate inventory levels
- Works closely with other departments to determine orders are complete and that correct items and quantities are received and in good condition
- Drive process improvements to improve overall efficiencies within the procure-to-pay process
