Local accounting firm is seeking mature, highly motivated, professional, and qualified candidate to fill vacancy in small high volume office.
Bookkeeper Essential Functions:
Data entry of payroll, checks, deposits, journal entries.
Perform Bank and Account Reconciliations.
Communicates (both in verbal and written form) with clients, client suppliers, vendors, and banking contacts.
Process and review client mail.
Prepares appropriate schedules and reports as requested by clients.
Processes payroll, payroll tax payments, and payroll tax forms.
Processes sales tax returns and sales tax payments.
Generate 1099's.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
Minimum of one year accounting or bookkeeping experience including, data entry, bank reconciliations, payroll, sales tax.
Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.
Ability to operate calculator, computer, and other general office equipment.
Knowledge of computerized accounting, but must be able to do a manual set of books.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements of processing payroll accounting transactions and payroll returns.
Experience with Excel, Word, Outlook and Quickbooks.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, in English.
Must be able to keep client matters strictly confidential.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills.
Prior experience in accounting/bookkeeping preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
