Summary
We are seeking an Entry Level Project Manager to join our dynamic team at Wenger Construction. In this role, you will assist the Project Management in project planning, scheduling, purchasing, reporting and tracking to ensure that schedules and budget are followed. Performs duties under the function and direction of the Project Manager.
Minimum Qualification
- Two years’ construction management degree OR, equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience
- Experience in construction industry PREFERRED
- Experience in siding (residential or commercial) - PREFERRED
Responsibilities
- Assist in timely follow up with clients, field workers and office staff needs
- Perform data entry of job-related information into an online database
- Ensure company and industry safety policies and procedures are followed on projects.
- Assist Project Manager is cost tracking, budget requirements, and project deadlines.
- Assist in material management. Ensure quality control, order tracking for delays and deliveries, and cost reconciliation to identify gaps and problem solve.
- Assist in creating weekly schedules and job assignments
- Make job site visits, leading job site meeting and conduct audit as needed.
- Provide PM with weekly updates to job site visits and meetings
- Work with Field leadership and General Contractor on site coordination and logistics.
- Expense reporting and tracking
- Participate in and assist with project handoff meetings with office staff and crews
- Assist Project Manager in assigning workers
- Additional duties as assigned
Key Skill & Competencies
- Requires self-motivated personal drive, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule and budget.
- Computer skills and familiarity with Mircosoft suite and outlook.
- Ability to read blue prints a plus
- Must be able to function in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and supervisory skills are essential.
- The individual should be able to identify and resolve problems quickly and gather and analyze information diligently.
- Professionalism
- Must maintain confidentiality and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and construction schematics.
- Familiarity with construction management software such as Prolog or HeavyBid is preferred.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities to motivate teams.
Other Requirements
- Must have safe driving record and valid drivers license according to legal requirements
- Ability to pass a drug screen
- Travel between multiple jobsites, service calls and our corporate headquarters, as needed
