We are seeking a Director of Business Development (Manufacturing) to lead strategic business development initiatives in the Pacific Northwest. This is an exciting opportunity for a proven hunter with deep industry expertise and a passion for creating transformational opportunities at the enterprise level.
Key Responsibilities:
- New Business Acquisition: Identify, engage, and secure new manufacturing clients, with a focus on enterprise-level opportunities.
- Consultative Sales Leadership: Develop and execute sales strategies that position IT services, digital solutions, and enterprise transformation initiatives as mission-critical for prospective clients.
- Market Expansion & Demand Generation: Leverage deep industry knowledge to create demand and establish the company as a go-to partner in the manufacturing sector.
- CXO Engagement & Relationship Building: Establish high-value relationships with executives across manufacturing sub-sectors (industrial, automotive, chemicals, etc.), influencing decision-makers and shaping complex deals.
- Enterprise Sales Execution: Navigate long sales cycles (including RFP/RFI processes) to successfully close multi-million-dollar contracts.
- Collaboration with Global Teams: Work closely with internal industry SMEs, solution architects, and delivery teams to craft compelling value propositions and deliver winning proposals.
What We’re Looking For:
- 12-15 years of enterprise sales experience in the manufacturing sector, with a strong track record in new logo acquisition.
- Proven ability to build and close large, strategic deals in IT services, consulting, or enterprise technology solutions.
- A strong professional network in the manufacturing industry, with connections across key industry associations and executives in the Pacific Northwest.
- Expertise in manufacturing sub-verticals such as Industrial, Automotive, Chemicals & Process, with deep knowledge of at least one area.
- Experience in proactive demand generation, consultative selling, and thought leadership to engage executives in transformative discussions.
- Familiarity with supplier selection processes, including RFI and RFP issuance and response management.
- Background in a leading IT services or consulting firm is preferred, with experience collaborating across global teams.
- Direct industry experience within manufacturing companies is an advantage.
